Anachem Approved Method of Pipette Decontamination

For complete internal/external decontamination of pipettes
(Suitable for all makes and models of pipette):

1. Prepare a 1:10 working solution of MicroSol 3+
2. Remove tip ejector
3. Unscrew connecting nut and remove piston assembly.
4. Place all pipette components from below the connecting nut in the solution for 30 minutes*.
5. Wipe the pipette handle with the solution.
6. Remove parts from the solution and rinse with distilled water.
7. Lay them on a tissue in a drying oven at 60°C for at least 90 minutes.
8. Reassemble pipette.

*Note: If the internal body/handle of your pipette becomes contaminated it can be placed in the MicroSol3+ solution for 30 minutes. However, it must be completley dry before re-assembly. This is achieved by placing the handle in a 60ºC oven for up to 2 hours. This is only recommended if your pipette has become severly contaminated.
