Manual liquid handling is one of the simpler activities within modern laboratories but forms the critical basis of many other procedures. The success of complex scientific techniques may be dependent upon it and so correct performance with properly maintained pipettes is essential to ensure maximum accuracy and precision at this stage.
Thus, whether an enthusiastic young student or a seasoned scientist it is always worth re-addressing basic principles to ensure you achieve total quality from the base line.
Anachem has over thirty five years expertise in pipetting and is able to share its knowledge and help with training through a series of seminars suitable for both new and experienced users.
The programme covers
1) Pipetting Techniques – using the correct pipette and technique to ensure maximum accuracy and precision whatever the sample type.2) Ergonomics of Pipetting – tips on organising the work area, correct pipetting posture and a range of products that can help reduce the risks of Work Related Upper Limb Disorder or Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) in the laboratory.
3) Pipette Care & Maintenance – techniques for basic care of Gilson & RAININ pipettes that can be performed in your own laboratory to maintain correct functioning in between full servicing. This practically based seminar includes animated presentations detailing pipette care procedures and invites attendees to bring along one of their own pipettes on which to perform a maintenance check during the session. Replacement seals and ‘O’ rings are provided for this purpose free of charge for PIPETMAN.
The seminar programme can be tailored to a specific institutes needs. It can include all three sessions or any combination as required. Seminars are intended for up to 12 attendees and available in half or full day sessions.
Each attendee will receive an Anachem Certificate of Training stating which course has been completed for their training records.
